Is it hot in here?

I took both the above photos of the Prudential Building as seen from Commonwealth Avenue today. Together they illustrate the forecast here for the next week or so – hot and humid with scattered thunderstorms. It was in the 90s Sunday and Monday – today it was a refreshing 84. Since work has central AC, I am almost eager to get there in the morning…if that’s not an indicator, I don’t know what is.

One of my favorite things about this book is that in this fictional world there are names given to ideas that ought to have names in the real world. For instance, Diax's Rake is the idea that you shouldn't believe something just because you want to. The name itself isn't that important, but I like that Stephenson recognizes that some ideas deserve to be acknowledged.

Like GTA in the Old West, but so far, more interesting. I just hope that the buddy characters don't require the same kid-gloved hand-holding from GTA4.
