A Golfing Thank You

Golfers

The last time this group of four was together, they were in water up to their knees, dressed in gortex, armed with pumps and brooms, fighting a flood. This past Sunday, as a thank you for their help during the big rain that flooded Amy and Joe’s basement, Joe took Aaron, Peter and Jamie out for a morning of golf. They played nine holes at Reedy Meadow in Lynnfield. Aaron reports that they had a great time and hit a bunch of “almost pars.” To see Aaron’s photos from the outing click the image above.

A few remarks on the photos in the gallery:

    • The pics of the carts were taken from carts moving at full speed. Admittedly, that’s about 13mph, but I’m surprised they weren’t blurry.
    • I forget who took the picture, but the one where I’m taking a shot is a fair representation of my game. You can clearly see from where the ball is in the frame that its trajectory will take it a good ten to twelve yards.
    • Everyone else kept their own scores, but I opted not to because, really, in the end, who wants to add nine three-digit numbers?
    • Neither my poor skill at golf nor general lack of macro-motor coordination detracted from my enjoyment of the day. The key is not taking it seriously. I had a great time.
