Sibling Gathering

Last week James took a day off from work and drove up from CT to spend a day with Justin. Later that same day, Peter, Aaron and I joined James at Amy and Joe’s house for an impromtu mid-week sibling gathering. It was really great to sit down, have dinner together and catch up. Above is the first picture of the four of us together (five really) since Justin has been born. Oh, and you might have noticed, Justin was a little surprised by the camera’s flash… Click on the above photo to see a small album of pictures (some of which are Amy’s – thanks Amy!).

One of my favorite things about this book is that in this fictional world there are names given to ideas that ought to have names in the real world. For instance, Diax's Rake is the idea that you shouldn't believe something just because you want to. The name itself isn't that important, but I like that Stephenson recognizes that some ideas deserve to be acknowledged.

Like GTA in the Old West, but so far, more interesting. I just hope that the buddy characters don't require the same kid-gloved hand-holding from GTA4.
