Birthday, Birthday and Birthday

This past weekend the family got together to celebrate Aaron, Peter and James’ birthdays. Peter and Maria hosted the event at their house and served pizza and salad for lunch – followed by an elaborate pirate themed birthday cake for dessert. Justin was of course the entertainment for the party, much better than any clown or magician, if you ask me.

We both loved the T. shirt shot of Justin and the photos from the guys birthday celebration seen in the lobby of the Cove Inn. Oddly enough nobody else here seemed interested :) Just had a wonderful hamburger at the Dock (which specializes in seafood.)

One of my favorite things about this book is that in this fictional world there are names given to ideas that ought to have names in the real world. For instance, Diax's Rake is the idea that you shouldn't believe something just because you want to. The name itself isn't that important, but I like that Stephenson recognizes that some ideas deserve to be acknowledged.
