One Happy Boy

Aaron and I recently spent the day babysitting for Justin. It was hands down, the easiest babysitting I have ever done. This boy eats, plays, smiles and naps. He didn’t cry the entire time we were with him. We kept waiting for him to get fussy, but it never happened. Amy says we lucked out timing wise as his current teeth (he has 4 now) have all broken through…but I’m convinced he’s simply the sweetest baby ever. One of my favorite things about this book is that in this fictional world there are names given to ideas that ought to have names in the real world. For instance, Diax's Rake is the idea that you shouldn't believe something just because you want to. The name itself isn't that important, but I like that Stephenson recognizes that some ideas deserve to be acknowledged.

Like GTA in the Old West, but so far, more interesting. I just hope that the buddy characters don't require the same kid-gloved hand-holding from GTA4.
