Grilling Season

Joe and Aaron playing frisbee

Last weekend it was actually warm enough to be outside, and for Amy and Joe that means one thing – grilling. Aaron, Mom and I spent Saturday night at their house for a great cookout. The weather was perfect, so we brought out blankets and Justin’s toys, and had a lovely evening outdoors. We played Frisbee and bocce until the mosquitoes drove us inside, and then Joe grilled us up some dinner. Click on the photo above to see the album. Happy spring!

Sesame Street: The Golden Age, Volume 1

Sesame Street Fat Cat Scat

This is why YouTube is great. There are hundreds of vintage Sesame Street clips there. Below are just some of my favorites from what I consider to be the Golden Age of Sesame Street (i.e. pre-Elmo).

Weekend at Nonnie’s

Joey and Justin

A couple of weekends back most of the family (Aaron was still gaming in Ohio and Chrissy had to work) traveled to my grandmother’s house in Connecticut for an Easter weekend get together. We did the usual stuff – spent Saturday morning doing yard work and then that afternoon Peter, James and Joe were joined by cousin Ben for their “opening day” game of wiffle ball. Half of us had a head cold (Mom, Dad, Justin and me), but we still managed to have a fun weekend. Justin seems to be on his way to learning to walk and is happiest standing, leaning on a toy, his parents, or the couch. Click on the photo above to see the few photos I took over the weekend.

Visit from the Girls

Sarah, Aaron, Emily and Bonney

At the end of March, Aaron went away for a week on vacation to a board game convention, and I thought – what a perfect time for a girls’ weekend. I invited our dear friends Emily and Bonney to come east for a long weekend with me. They both arrived in time for a brief visit (and a couple of rounds of guitar hero) with Aaron, before he left for his vacation. Then, Bonney, Emily and I enjoyed a relaxing weekend of pedicures, chick movies, good meals and even a long walk in the woods. The three of us had a great time together and I hope have started a new tradition…we’re thinking next time we may even travel somewhere.
Click on the above photo to see the few pictures we took during the visit.
