Weekends on the Cape

Rita and Lindy

Aaron and I were lucky enough to spend two weekends in July with his family on the Cape. The first weekend we had great weather and spent lots of time outside – relaxing on the beach, kayaking and sailing. I also was introduced to the newest member of the family, their golden retriever Lindy (pictured above with Rita). The second weekend the weather was a bit inconsistent. We did manage to squeeze in some intense games of badminton with Andrew, but also spent some time indoors playing the board game Power Grid and of course, the family favorite – Guitar Hero. Molly has her learner’s permit and drove us around a bit – it seems crazy that she’s old enough. It was great to have two weekends to visit with the family.

Wedding of Jen and Jay

Jen and Jay in Bubbles

Last month Aaron and I, along with Mom, Peter and Maria traveled out to Colorado Springs, Colorado for my cousin Jen’s wedding. It was a quick, but enjoyable weekend and a fun opportunity to catch up with our extended family. We stayed at a cute bed and breakfast, The Cheyenne Canyon Inn. Saturday morning, we had a little bit of free time before the wedding, so we went hiking at The Garden of the Gods, a beautiful national park filled with red sandstone rock formations and juniper trees. Saturday afternoon and evening we celebrated Jen and Jay’s wedding with socializing, food and dancing. And then Sunday morning, it was off to the airport to catch our flight home. The visit was much too short, but we were glad just to have been there. Click on the above photo of Jen and Jay to see the album of photos from the trip.

Justin Update

Justin's excited

So I have clearly been delinquent in my posting. These photos of Justin are about a month old at this point, but so cute, I though they were still worth posting, even though they are out of date. I spent a day with Amy, Joe and Justin back in early June and Justin was having an especially photogenic day. He has a little bit of hair now, a mouth full of teeth, makes all sorts of sounds – some that sound pretty close to muma and dada and he is so so so close to walking. Anyway we are all enjoying him immensely.
