The Shore 2008, part 3

So here is the last chunk of photos. You’ll see Peter and Maria joined us for the second weekend of our time at the shore. As brief as it was it was great to have all the siblings together. We continued to spend a lot of time in the water. We really lucked out as this time at the beach ended up being one of the hottest weeks of the summer. On Saturday, our last night, we had a bonfire on the beach. I’m already looking forward to next summer. One of my favorite things about this book is that in this fictional world there are names given to ideas that ought to have names in the real world. For instance, Diax's Rake is the idea that you shouldn't believe something just because you want to. The name itself isn't that important, but I like that Stephenson recognizes that some ideas deserve to be acknowledged.

Like GTA in the Old West, but so far, more interesting. I just hope that the buddy characters don't require the same kid-gloved hand-holding from GTA4.
