Back at the end of May, Aaron and I went to the beach for a relaxing weekend. It was very quiet. We felt like we had the whole beach to ourselves, which was not so bad. We spent the weekend reading, playing games and just enjoying being there. James and Chrissy came up for dinner one night while we were there and it was great to catch up with them. Author: Neal Stephenson

One of my favorite things about this book is that in this fictional world there are names given to ideas that ought to have names in the real world. For instance, Diax's Rake is the idea that you shouldn't believe something just because you want to. The name itself isn't that important, but I like that Stephenson recognizes that some ideas deserve to be acknowledged.

Like GTA in the Old West, but so far, more interesting. I just hope that the buddy characters don't require the same kid-gloved hand-holding from GTA4.
