Day with Justin

Amy and Joe went to a Red Sox game early last summer with Mom and Peter and asked Aaron and I to watch Justin. We had a great afternoon/evening building with blocks and playing with iPhones. Justin is particularly fond of watching videos on the phones, especially Schoolhouse Rock, Unpack Your Adjectives. He thinks it’s hysterical. Needless to say, we had a fun night. One of my favorite things about this book is that in this fictional world there are names given to ideas that ought to have names in the real world. For instance, Diax's Rake is the idea that you shouldn't believe something just because you want to. The name itself isn't that important, but I like that Stephenson recognizes that some ideas deserve to be acknowledged.

Like GTA in the Old West, but so far, more interesting. I just hope that the buddy characters don't require the same kid-gloved hand-holding from GTA4.
