The Cadillac of Swingsets

Aaron and Justin

After months (years?) of research and comparison shopping, Amy and Joe bought this great swing set for their boys. Joe and a friend from work assembled it on a Saturday morning and we kept an eye on Brian while it was put together. It’s a far cry from the swing sets I remember from when we were kids. The best part (in my eyes) is that it’s built to support adults. I’ve even been down the slide.

Vacation at the shore, part 3

Family on the seawall

Here’s the last chunk of photos from our time at the beach this year. We had a big camp fire again this year – complete with s’mores and sparklers. The sparklers were a bit damp and we found they had to be held in the fire a dangerously long time to get lit – so someone came up with a solution – stick the sparkler in a marshmallow and the marshmallow on the end of the roasting stick – brilliant. The above photo was taken on our last day on the point. We had a really great week and when it was over we were all sad to go. I’m already looking forward to next summer.

Vacation at the shore, part 2

Brian out cold

Our time at the beach continued – Peter and Maria joined us mid week, as did Uncle John and Peggy. We had a few hours of rain here and there, but for the most part the weather was nice enough to be outside. Aaron continued his fishing efforts, we read on the seawall, played shuffle board, built cities in the sand… The above photo is of Brian after a nice walk to the dock with his parents – click on it to see the second chunk of photos from our time at the shore.

Vacation at the Shore, part 1

James in the kayak

In July, we spent our annual week at the shore. It continues to be one of my favorite times of the year. We took a lot of photos – so I will probably end up dividing them across three posts, but here is the first chunk. There are photos of Aaron’s new hobby – fishing, playing board games, our dinner at Fish Tales and lots of lounging around and relaxing. It’s great to be able to share some of the things we did as kids with Amy and Joe’s kids – crab fishing on alligator rock for example. And we’re already looking forward to next year and adding James and Chrissy’s little one to the mix… And speaking of James, like the photo above? Later when he tried to get out of that kayak (in very shallow water) he flipped over and fell out. Unfortunately, I missed that photo op.
