The LEGO race car

Justin and the lego race car

For Christmas every year I give Aaron a set of legos. Nothing huge, just a little kit, it’s something nostalgic that he really enjoys. This year I gave him a kit that could be put together to be one of 3 vehicles, a sports car, a go cart or a Humvee. Aaron had been saving this kit to put together with Justin and this past weekend we all got together for dinner and the two of them worked on it quite happily for hours. Justin voted for assembling the sports car option. There are a couple of photos of Justin and the finished product. Both Justin and Aaron really seemed to enjoy themselves. Pretty cute.

Long Weekend in Seattle

Sarah and Aaron in Seattle

A couple of weeks back Aaron had to travel to Seattle for a week for work. So we decided to tack on a long weekend out there together. I flew out on Thursday after work and we spent 3 great days together roaming the city. Some how we lucked out and the rain basically only fell at night. We ate delicious food – revisiting some favorites from previous visits and tried some new places as well. A particular stand out was Long Provincial, a Vietnamese restaurant – yum! We also took a ferry over to Bainbridge Island and spent an afternoon walking around out there. We took the red-eye back on Sunday night (leaving Seattle at 11:30 PM, arriving in Boston at 7:30 AM), and quickly learned that we are not “fly the red-eye and then go straight to work” people. Yuck! We did have a great weekend though.

Snow Shots

Snowy branches

For those of you who don’t live in our part of the state (or country), you may have heard to date we have had quite the snowy winter. I think our total accumulation so far is somewhere between 60 and 70 inches, and I would guess there’s somewhere between 30 and 40 inches on the ground at the moment. We have had a few sunny days as of late, so there has been a little melting, but at its peak, the snow piles on either side of our driveway were taller than we are. It is an odd phenomenon to have your front lawn be 3 feet higher than it normally is. This is a small album of my favorite snow photos that we have taken so far this winter. Yes, it has been cold and yes it has been a challenge to keep up with the snow, but it has been been beautiful.

Ringing in 2011

Joe and Amy

Aaron and I rang in 2011 with a dinner at Amy and Joe’s. Joe scored some lobsters (which Aaron was quite excited about) from a client and Amy made a delicious tortellini soup. We played cars and games with Justin and Brian, had a good meal and passed from 2010 to 2011 with a giant pot of chocolate fondue. Not a bad way to end a year :)
