It’s been a busy week – most significantly we are the proud aunt and uncle to two new nieces! I’m very excited to share that Peter and Maria’s twin girls, Lia Theresa and Ella Sue, arrived a little early. They were born around 3:00 and 3:30 AM on Tuesday April 19th. Maria and the girls are all exhausted, but doing well and resting up in the hospital where Amy and I visited them on Wednesday. Above is a photo of their cousin Alice, who along with a little help from Chrissy, wanted to welcome the twins to the family. I’ll post some photos of the twins soon. Congratulations to Peter and Maria!

At the very end of March, I took a fabulous vacation to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico with my good friends Bonney, Laura and Courtney. The four of us first spent time together last spring for Bonney’s baby shower and we enjoyed each other so much we have decided to try to make it an annual event. We stayed at the Pueblo Bonito Pacifica Resort and it was beautiful. We spent most of our time by the pool – reading, lounging, swimming and enjoying frozen beverages. We did venture into town one day. First we went on an “intimate experience” whale watch – which meant we went out on these little rubber zodiac boats and that was a pretty fantastic tour. Later that day we had a delicious lunch at a local restaurant called Mi Casa, and did a little shopping before returning to the hotel. Laura arranged the entire trip, she travels to Mexico often for work, and hooked us up in every way – she also speaks fluent Spanish – and made the entire trip seamless for all of us. Needless to say it was a great time and we were all sorry when it was time to head home. I am just back from a fabulous long weekend with girlfriends in Mexico, and I am still sorting through the photos, which I will post soon. In the mean time though, I wanted to share a few recent photos that James and Chrissy sent out of Alice who is almost 5 months old now. Pretty damn cute!

A couple weekends back, Aaron and I babysat while Amy and Joe went out to dinner with our cousin Kate and her husband Shawn. Shortly after Amy and Joe left, Justin announced, “I have a great idea – instead of playing inside, I’ll show you how I can ride my bike in the driveway!” With an offer like that, how could I refuse? So Aaron and Brian stayed inside and Justin and I bundled up and headed out. He was so proud, and excited to be outside – despite the cold.
