A Golfing Thank You

Golfers

The last time this group of four was together, they were in water up to their knees, dressed in gortex, armed with pumps and brooms, fighting a flood. This past Sunday, as a thank you for their help during the big rain that flooded Amy and Joe’s basement, Joe took Aaron, Peter and Jamie out for a morning of golf. They played nine holes at Reedy Meadow in Lynnfield. Aaron reports that they had a great time and hit a bunch of “almost pars.” To see Aaron’s photos from the outing click the image above.

A new toy for Aaron (…well ok, for both of us)

13" Macbook

Last night we finally ordered Aaron’s overdue anniversary/Christmas/birthday present. We have been shopping for a laptop for a while now and finally settled on Apple’s new 13″ MacBook. To say Aaron is excited about it would be a bit of an understatement – he’s more like a kid anxiously awaiting Christmas morning. He went to the Apple store in the mall yesterday to check it out in person and came home satisfied that it would suit our needs… So it’s ordered and now we just wait.

Gabriel’s Bunny Hat

Gabriel in bunny hat

A friend of Aaron’s at work, Chichi, and her husband Geoff had a baby boy a few months ago. We wanted to give them something to celebrate Gabriel’s birth, so I decided to challenge myself and try out a new knitting project. This hat offered me the opportunity to learn some new stitches and to use the smallest circular knitting needles I have ever seen (US#5, 12″ for you knitters out there)…and the end result was quite cute. Recently, we had dinner with Chichi and Geoff and another work friend of Aaron’s, Wendy. We got to meet Gabriel and present him with the hat pictured above. Isn’t he adorable?

… and Knitting and Knitting

Family in Hats

As most of you know I have been teaching myself to knit. I am happy to report that in addition to mastering the scarf (why yes I did make the one Amy is wearing above), I have also mastered the knitted cap. In the above photo, Peter, James, Aaron, Amy and Joe are all modeling the customized hats I knitted for each of them. I’m not sure what exactly Peter is looking at though. Perhaps he is thinking about how lucky is to have sister as fabulous as me, who also knits. Is that it Peter?
